The Yankees Try To Make Nice With Bronx Communities

They may have taken all of the public parks from the South Bronx, but the Yankees know exactly how to make it up to the community. The team announced today that they will distribute 15,000 tickets good for entry to the Yankees and Cubs public workout on April 2nd, the day before the first exhibition game. The tickets will only be distributed to residents of Bronx communities, and will also come with a free lunch voucher good for a free hot dog or pizza.

This is actually a pretty cool thing for the Yankees to do, and although it is clearly a PR stunt, there is little to critcize. 3,000 of the 15,000 tickets will go to union members who helped to build the stadium, so they really are taking care of the people who helped to make this new grand home a possibility. Kudos to the Yankees, and hopefully everyone enjoys the sneak peak and helps to work out some of the inevitable new park kinks.

Now lets just hope that these tickets don't end up on being sold on the internet, kind of like this pre-sale password on Craigslist. People like that should have their season tickets revoked.

I agree: I hope someone from the Yankees' ticket office answers that craigslist ad and takes away that jackass' account.
