The NSI Minor League Report: April 18th

Scranton remains undefeated at 9-0, with a 11-0 thrashing. Phil Hughes pitched a solid 5.2 innings, with no walks and 6 strikeouts. He had an effective fastball and cutter, and mostly abandoned his curve, after the opposition were sitting on it, and hitting it hard. Austin Jackson remains out with a deep bruise to his arm, after getting hit by a pitch.

Trenton had an extra inning win, as Eduardo Nunez scored in the 10th inning on a wild pitch. Tampa's bats came alive, as they pounded out 16 hits in a 10-1 victory. Jesus Montero had 4 hits in 5 at bats, while getting 2 doubles. Jeramy Bleich pitched an effective game, allowing 1 earned run in 6 innings of work. Charleston was the only loser, in the system, dropping a 5-4 game on a 9th inning run.
