The Art Of Peter Max Replaced By Yankees Women's Team Store

Well, that didn't take long.

It looks as though "The Art Of Peter Max" store at the new Yankee Stadium has been unceremoniously replaced by a "New York Yankees Women's Team Store." Yup, its a slow news day. (Thanks to Stefmara on Twitter for the tip - follow her on Twitter if you are a Yankees fan!)

We have to admit - we never stepped foot in the Peter Max art studio. Every time we walked by we shook our heads and wondered what the hell it was doing at a baseball stadium. Now, the ladies in the crowd should be pleased - they have their very own store to buy hideous pink Yankees merchandise from!

What's the deal, Yankees? Couldn't strike a deal to open up an Alyssa Milano Touch Boutique like they did at Citi Field? Step your game up, Trost - Alyssa's team-themed jeans are a hit with the ladies!

I gotta be honest. I went into that stupid art gallery twice. And I could only respond with a facepalm. Really pointless stuff.

The womens store seems like a smart idea though -- Now Nicole's gonna make me go in there and buy her something....

I'm fine with that, as long as she doesn't buy anything pink!
That's not going to happen.
It's about time. If you go to other stadiums around the country they have women's team stores. Just saw one last week at Kaufmann stadium in Kansas City!
I sent this email to them:

Hello-

I attended the final Yankee Stadium game and received one of the prints of Yankee Stadium. Would it be possible for me to mail it to Mr. Max and have him sign it? I would include a SASE to make it easy for him, and then would frame it on my own once I get it back signed. Thank you very much and I look forward to hearing back!

Drew

AND GOT THIS PATHETIC RESPONSE BACK:

Hello,

Thank you for visiting Petermax.com. Peter would be happy to sign your item, but as we receive many requests there is a fee involved. The fee for signing is $125.00 per item. All signed items must also include a dedication along with the signature, so please indicate who you would like your item dedicated to. Please be sure to wrap your item carefully and securely as we are not responsible for damage incurred in shipping. If you are interested please send your item, a SASE and a check made out to Alp, Inc. to:

You stay classy, Peter Max.
lmao,Peter Max sounds just like Steiner and The Yankees Organization..its all about the dollar. You cant even get a players autograph anymore unless it comes with a Steiner purchase.Jeter ball signed is about 750.00 he wont sign otherwise.Arod 350 and he wont even shake your hand to thank you,his croonies will hand you the signed ball after full payment is done...lmao...and they cry about money...
hey Drew, why pay so much for an autograph,i make fascimiles that look like the real thing...send it to me, i will charge you NADA,,NOTHING, ZIP, ZILCH..heck have you seen Peter Max's autograph? a 10 yr old can write it.
Nice findings, keep up the good go brother .
hi,my name is corinne and i have an original painting of FAN DANCER,by PETER MAX. iTS AN LIMITED EDITION REMARQUE,it is certified, exclusively from The Franklin Mint. If intrested-ccalderon1778@yahoo.com give me offer its worth 500.00 i will take highist offer
Indeed an art shop inside a baseball stadium was overkill. But for all intents and purposes, Peter Max is a great collaborator of Sports, did a great TOPPS cards 1997 collection and his style is feisty and cheerful. I am sure the franchise has moved somewhere more appropriate.
