The NSI Minor League Report: Two Comebacks

Saturday 5/2

Two prized pitchers made their debuts after long shoulder injury rehabs. Alan Horne pitched for Trenton and got roughed up, going 3.2 innings with 6 hits and 4 runs (3 earned). Tim Norton, who hasn't pitched since April 2007, had better results, pitching 1.2 innings for Tampa, giving up 1 hit, no walks and 3 strikeouts.

Scranton continues to win, behind fill-in pitcher Casey Fossum, and a string of relievers. Austin Jackson went 1 for 2, and is hitting the quietest .368, you'll ever see. Tampa's vaunted hitters have gone quiet and were one hit. The only hit was a home run by Austin Romine. Charleston was the only other winner, blanking their opponent 2-0.
