The NSI Minor League Report: Montero Back In The Lineup

Tuesday 5/5

Jesus Montero was back in the DH slot for Tampa, after being taken out the day before for a leg injury. Montero doubled in a losing cause, as Tampa was shutout. Scranton lost as Jose Valdez gave the game away in relief, walking 4 in .1 innings (the out was on batter's interference). Trenton's doubleheader was rained out.

Charleston also lost. Andrew Brackman continues to have control problems, as he walked 3, had 3 wild pitches and hit a batter in 4 innings of work. Despite the wildness, he is tough to hit, only giving up 2 hits and 1 earned run. The Yankees apparently tried to hide Chein Ming Wang as a reliever named Ryan Flannery, who gave up 8 hits and 6 runs in 1 inning of 'non-relief'.

Humberto Sanchez passed through waivers and was re-signed, being assigned to Trenton's DL.
