Aubrey Huff Fist-pumps, Gives Joba A Taste of His Own Medicine

When we first saw the below, the initial reaction was: "make that f*^%er pay the next time he steps into the batter's box." Then we realized that Aubrey Huff's reaction to achieving the utmost success during his at bat was exactly the same as Joba fist-pumping in celebration of his strikeout conquests. With Joba on the mound, there was nothing for us to be mad about.

It is unlikely that Aubrey Huff was thinking similarly when he mocked Joba - he probably just wanted to get a rise out of the guy who has quickly become the least liked pitcher in baseball.

With Joba, Yankees fans must come to accept the good with the bad - when he pitches, he will be a lightning-rod for controversy.

Crazy Mets fan: "souvenir? I don't want no stinkin' souvenir!"

In the 4th inning today, A-Rod blasted a foul HR, deep to left field:

Apparently that confused fan wanted no part of the $12.99 baseball that beat the odds and made it up to his section. Forget that it had a commemorative logo honoring the last season at Shea. Forget that it was hit by possibly the greatest HR hitter of all time. Forget that it was a FOUL BALL, and did not tie the game, or have any impact on the score. That guy must have always wanted to "throw it back" and for better or for worse, he was going to do it.

Kudos to him... I guess.

Good news Yankee Fans - Ian Kennedy got jerked off in the bullpen

Get your mind out of the gutter, people. I haven't turned this blog NC-17 on you. The line in the title of the post is taken verbatim (well, almost verbatim) from David Cone who made his proud return to the broadcast booth on YES with the following amazing moment in an otherwise DEPRESSING game:

Yes folks, he said that Ian Kennedy got jerked off. I can't believe it, but he said it. Kudos to Ken "look out" Singleton for taking it all in stride and just calling the action as he saw it. Perhaps Coney was remembering some of the good times he used to have in the bullpen when he was on the Mets early in his career. He got jerked around Coney, jerked around would have been more acceptable there. Sadly, YES may not be as forgiving of that misstep as we are here at NYYSI.
