The NSI Minor League Report: Victorious in Extra Innings

Tuesday 4/14

Both Scranton and Charleston won in extra innings, while Trenton and Tampa were rained out. Austin Jackson scored the winning run in the 11th, for Scranton, while Mark Melancon had an impressive outing for the win. Melancon has 11 strikeouts in 5 2/3 innings and actually fanned his first 10 righties that he faced this season. He gave up his first hit of the year in the 11th inning.

In Charleston, Brett Marshall, last year's top overslot draft pick made a solid debut. Marshall threw a two hit, 6 inning game without allowing an earned run.
