The NSI Minor League Report: Brackman Doesn't Walk Anyone

Andrew Brackman pitched a serviceable game, going 5 innings with 3 runs and no walks. That is news since, Brackman allowed 25 Earned Runs in his last 15 innings (over 5 games). Ivan Nova, who was picked up San Diego in the Rule V draft and returned, continues to shine. Nova went 8 Innings, for Scranton, allowing 1 run on 4 hits while walking none. Lance Pendelton had a 27 inning scoreless streak snapped in Tampa. Pendelton gave up 1 run, in 7 innings of work, while while giving up 3 hits and 1 walk, with 9 strikeouts.

Austin Jackson had his second consecutive 3 hit game, while Jesus Montero has been put on the inactive list, to play in The Futures Game.

The NSI Minor League Report: Ajax hits his 3rd homer in 7 games

Monday July 6th

Scranton swept a doubleheader. The first game was an extra inning affair, that was won by stellar relief pitching, which pitched 5 innings of shutout ball. Juan Miranda won it in the 11th inning, on a walk off single. Austin Jackson walked 3 times in the first game, and homered in the second game.

Trenton and Tampa lost. Jesus Montero was beaten out for the ESL Player of the week despite having a .391 average vs, a ,379 average for the winner. Montero had 4 home runs and a double, while the other player had a homer, triple and 4 doubles.

Andrew Brackman continues to struggle as he couldn't record an out in the 2nd inning for Charleston. He gave up 6 runs in 1 inning of work with 4 walks. In his last 5 appearances, Brackman hasn't made it to the 5 th inning. He's given up an astonishing 25 Earned Runs in the last 14.2 innings.

The NSI Minor League Report: Trenton Has A Perfect Game Against Them

Thursday 5/21

Trenton had a perfect game thrown against them, by a pitcher that wasn't considered The Indians top 25 prospects. Scranton won big, 14-1, behind some thunder by Juan Miranda (double & homer) and Shelley Duncan (homer).

Tampa lost a doubleheader, while Charleston won with a dominating effort by Andrew Brackman. Brackman seems to be putting things together with his 3rd strong game in a row. Andrew went 8 innings and gave up one run, with a walk and 6 six strikeouts.

The NSI Minor League Report: Ortiz Blows Another Lead

Saturday 5/16

Scranton and Trenton (doubleheader) were both rained out, and will both play doubleheaders today. Chien Ming Wang will pitch the first game, and Brian Bruney will either relieve Wang, or start the second game, if doesn't hit his pitch count (minor league doubleheaders are usually 7 inning games).

Three of The Yanks top minor league pitchers started, in the lower levels, and all pitched well. Dellin Betances gave up 1 ER in 6 innings for Tampa. Jonathan Ortiz imploded in the 9th, giving up 3 runs (2 earned) to give the game back. Andrew Brackman seems to be harnessing his pitches in Charleston. While his line of 5 hits, 2 ER's and 2 walks in 5 IP's is not overly impressive, it's much better than it was earlier, which had lots of WP's and hit batters. The strikeout total of 2, for a pitcher that hits the upper 90's is not impressive, but the goal is to get innings for Brackman. The 2nd game of the double header, had southpaw Manny Banuelos pitch. Manny had one walk and six strikeouts in 4 innings of work.

The NSI Minor League Report: Brackman Shows His Stuff

Monday 5/11

Scranton got shut out, but Austin Jackson continued his multiple hit streak, going 2 for 4 with a double. Trenton also lost, while Tampa won a 7 inning, shortened game. Dellin Betances started and gave up 3 runs and 4 hits, while getting only 1 out. There was a lengthy rain delay, and Betances didn't come back out. Jesus Montero continued his hitting spree, going 2 for 4 with a triple.

In Charleston, Andrew Brackman had his best game as a pro, going 8 innings with only 1 walk and 9 strikeouts. His velocity touched 99, and most of his strikeouts were on the knuckle curve. Charleston lost in the 14th inning.

Yankees 2007 First Round Draft Pick Andrew Brackman being dunked on by Reyshawn Terry

I saw this making the rounds on the interwebs and I just HAD to post it.

I hope Andrew Brackman is a good enough pitcher to warrant a poster one day, but if not, at least he can take solace in the fact that he was already POSTERIZED once before.
